In the ‘60s, Barry Briggs and John Cafazza began playing music together, Barry on guitar and John on drums. At times their pathways were the same, playing in bands throughout high school and then at Virginia Tech. After college, each followed separate and varied musical routes expressing their love of music in their own way.
Reunited in 2016, they renewed their friendship and rekindled their common and newfound musical passions. Realizing they missed creating music together, they decided it was time to collaborate on writing songs. Playing off each other’s strengths and creativity, they challenged themselves and produced the 17 songs captured on their first album, “Together Again.”
“Together Again” contains a variety of music genres and the guys’ broad musical influences are woven throughout. While listening, one might find themselves transported from Italy to Jamaica to Nashville with stops in between. When asked how to best describe their music, they just say “it’s our own style.”
